Neonatology and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Point-of-Care Ultrasound Course
This course is hosted jointly by faculty from Dell Children's Medical Center and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and is designed for neonatal and pediatric critical care medicine providers with limited or basic knowledge of bedside ultrasonography.

About the Event
Through a combination of lectures and hands-on practical sessions using live models and simulation equipment, course attendees will learn ultrasound fundamentals (physics and principles of scanning) and ultrasound scanning techniques pertinent to neonatal and pediatric practice, including: basic procedural guidance (PIV and PAL placement, central line placement, lumbar puncture); bladder scanning; FAFF (focused assessment of free abdominal fluid); lung evaluation; basic cardiac evaluation.
The course is being taught by neonatologists, pediatric intensivists, pediatric emergency medicine physicians and pediatric cardiologists. All faculty are experts in their field, and the course will have a low student-to-teacher ratio of 5-to-1 for the practical skills stations.
